Students will be introduced to African-American, Latin and Indigenous cultural artists not typically found in everyday curriculum. They will participate in hands-on creative projects, exploring and  learning basic techniques and styles along with the cultural artist’s background and historical information. 

History program in collaboration with Peekskill Museum. The class will be taught by Peekskill historian Frank Godderre. Students will learn the history of Peekskill in preparation to becoming Peekskill Historical doceants in collaboration with Peekskill High School.

Award-winning performer Eva Sita will teach classes focused on the practice of hip-hop with cultural flair, as well as developing the student’s coordination, mobility and enhancing cohesive group. All classes will include a warm-up, dance routines and theatrical practices.

Fiber Artist Heather Amabale will introduce weaving and pattern techniques with manipulative fibers such as string and yarn, creating individual woven pieces while simultaneously working on motor skills and student focus.

This playwriting course will focus on development and presentation of theatre performance through playwriting. Students will create dialogue, short skits and small performance pieces based on family and community reflections.
